Self Service for Education

Parents and students expect immediate answers to their questions, but there are only so many hours a day that you are available to answer questions via email. What if you could not only cut down on the amount of email that comes to your office every day, but more importantly allow people to help themselves in the moment that they need it the most? That's where using self service tools can be a big help.

Website Widget

Inside every Help Scout account is a tool called Beacon, which is a small widget that can be added to your website. While Beacon does allow you an easy way to get an email contact form on your website, it is most helpful in answering questions your website visitors have immediately. Inside Beacon you can display FAQ articles where people can search for the answer they need, and keep one extra email out your inbox.

Help with AI

Using AI to help parents and students might feel really scary, considering just how much information it can get wrong. But unlike AI you are probably used to, AI within Help Scout learns from just your information, such as your website. Anyone visiting your website can ask it questions, and it is only going to give them information from your own site, not from the entire internet.

Far less inaccurate answers, far more help for those basic questions a student or parent might have at 10pm that you do not have to answer via email the next day.

A FAQ Site

While you may have a page on your school or district's website with FAQ information, that might be hard to get updated when changes need to be made, a request that could take IT weeks to fulfill even to change something as simple as a start time or revised holiday schedule.

With Docs in Help Scout, you can create, maintain, and publish your own FAQ site that you can fully own with no other outside help needed. Add any articles you would like to it, such as sports and other extracurricular activities updates, the school holiday calendar, even information about specific grade levels or enrollment requirements.

Best of all? Your Docs site can be used within your Beacon web widget to display FAQ articles anywhere on your website, or even another way for AI to learn and display answers from. The perfect way to ensure that students and parents alike have the most up to date information at their fingertips without having to reach out to your team for help.
